Woburn Golf Club puts a great focus on its junior members and junior golf in general. In 2013, through the generosity of its members, Woburn won the 'Gus Payne Trophy' for the Golf Club which made the largest donation towards The Golf Foundation in 2012. An achievment which is greatly valued by the club members.
The junior members at Woburn enjoy a full and active programme of events which include inter club matches and competitions with the Scratch Team, the Ladies Section and the Seniors Section. These events are regarded as important fixtures within the club as they help the juniors interact and develop their social skills with the adult members. The club is immensely proud of its junior section of which there are in excess of 90 junior members, ranging in ability from the elite through to the younger members who are just taking up the game.
In 2010, two Woburn members Charley Hull and Lauren Taylor were both selected for the European Junior Solheim Cup Team and they were actually partnered together in the matches. It is unlikely there are many clubs which could make such a claim!
Apart from the emphasis on the junior membership at Woburn, the club is also very supportive of junior golf and in conjunction with the club's touring professional, Ian Poulter, the Ian Poulter Junior Invitational was hosted at Woburn on an annual basis up until 2015.
Woburn Golf Club also has an association with Bedford School which operates a Golf Scholarship Scheme with Woburn being the home venue for Bedford School Golf Fixtures.
